Retakes: how does it work?

If you have any feedback about the audio you received, contact the voice over directly in the chat of the project with your comments. Depending on the nature of your feedback, the retake might be charged or not.

Retake on tone of voice:

A retake based on intonation (and pronunciation) is included in the initial fee. Should the voice not pronounce something as briefed, the voice over will correct it. Would you like to change something in the briefing? If so, this is of course possible, but there may be a charge for this.

Retake because of a mistake in the recording:

If the voice over made a mistake in their recording or mispronounced a word, you can ask them to re-record that part without any extra fee. You can record a pronunciation guide when creating the project or send a reference audio to avoid this.

Retake because of a change of script:

If your script changes and you want the voice over to record the modifications, the retake will be charged. If it’s only one sentence, the fee is usually around 50€. If it’s a paragraph it’s around 100€, and it can go to half the initial price if the voice over has to re-record everything. Those are only guidelines, and the voice over decides the final retake fee.

Retake because of new information in the brief:

If halfway through the project, you send new elements to the voice over they didn’t have for the first recording, the new recording might be charged. This can be a video to time the audio or a reference voice for the tone of voice. To avoid this situation, include all the needed files from the beginning in the project.

If the retake is free you’ll receive the new audio in the chat without fee. If the retake is charged, you’ll automatically receive a new invoice for the additional amount at the same time as the audio. You need to approve the extra cost before receiving the audio.
